About Volunteer 211
This website was created by Community Connection to promote and facilitate volunteer participation in the Athens and North Georgia area. We realized that while there are many organizations in our community who need volunteers and many groups and individuals who wish to volunteer, limited resources were available to help these two groups find each other.
We created Volunteer 211 with three goals:
To help non-profit organizations recruit and keep volunteers
To help individuals and groups identify desirable volunteer opportunities
To encourage the support of our community through volunteer service
About Community Connection
In operation since 1984, the mission of Community Connection of Northeast Georgia is to nurture, develop, and maintain information & systems that empower individuals and communities to access needed resources and services. Our service area includes Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Franklin, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton counties.
